For some Sioux Empire pets, finding a "fur-ever" home is easy. However, other pets get overlooked and left behind. One older South Dakota dog was not only left behind, but he was also forced to start life over again.

Say hello to Froggy B. at the Sioux Falls Area Humane Society. He's 15-years-old and was in need of a new family.

Froggy B's previous family had no other options but to surrender him. No pet owner ever wants to say goodbye to their four-legged friends. But sometimes, it is the best thing for the pet in order to give them the life they deserve. It's the greatest and most painful kind of love.

This Sioux Falls dog is in a unique situation. Being 15-years-old, most adopters want to have a younger pet. Staff at the Sioux Falls Area Humane Society were hoping potential owners could look past Froggy B's age.

He was looking for someone to see him for the loving dog he is.

My golden years were supposed to feel warm and full…

but right now, they feel dimmed...
