The Sioux Falls Police Department takes pride in its K9s on the job with their officers. Sadly, one of its beloved K9 members passed away after years of service with the department.

Officials with the Sioux Falls Police Department recently shared the heartbreaking news that Doerak the K9 has passed away. He was so loved by everyone in the department.

Doerak was retired after serving the Sioux Falls for seven years. He was living his best life until his last moments.

Since his retirement, he lived with his former handler and enjoyed a good life. Rest easy Doerak, we have it from here,

Working in law enforcement is a tough job. K9s like Doerak help rescue Sioux Falls Police Department officers from bad days. They also give residents a sense of safety and peace during times of trouble. Doerak clearly made his mark in Sioux Falls, and residents are showing their respect on Facebook:
