Sioux Falls Police: Facebook Deal Gone Bad
Sioux Falls Police responded to a robbery at 15th Street and Charlotte Avenue on Wednesday afternoon.
"Our victim was on Facebook using Facebook as a market place where people can buy and sell used items," according to Police Sgt. Sean Kooistra.
"The victim had made a deal on-line to purchase a laptop computer. When he went to an agreed upon location to meet with the suspect---he met with the suspect who was seated in the passenger seat of a vehicle. The victim had handed over the money for the laptop. The suspect was a little apprehensive in turning over the laptop to the victim. He yelled at the driver to take off which he did. The victim attempted to grab the laptop and was ultimately dragged about ten feet on the roadway. He did receive some minor injuries."
Kooistra has this description of the suspect and the vehicle.
"The vehicle that was used is described as a grey or silver Chrysler 300 or something similar with South Dakota license places. The suspect is a black male with a beard, approximately 5'5" tall, and weighing about a 120 pounds. He is estimated to be in his mid-twenties."
If you have any information about the incident, Kooistra urges you to contact police or Crimestoppers.
