On September 11, 2019, three tornadoes hit Sioux Falls. The mall area at 41st Street and Western Ave. took a big hit and many stores sustained substantial damage. Among those was the Pizza Ranch restaurant.

Many have wondered when Pizza Ranch and the other stores would be ready to open up again for business. On Monday Pizza Ranch posted this update on their facebook page.

“We wanted to update all of our customers and friends on the progress at the 41st St Pizza Ranch. Clean up continues as we are waiting for new ceiling joists to be manufactured. All water damaged materials on the inside of the building have been removed. Once the roof is repaired construction can begin immediately.

Our best estimate for reopening is July of 2020. Our staff is staying busy with community service projects in the meantime. This week we will be volunteering at Feeding South Dakota and on Dec. 4th we will be delivering Christmas presents for South Dakota Cares.

To follow up on some questions that have been asked since the tornado:
- All Pizza Ranch gift cards are still valid at any other Pizza Ranch Location.
- $5 gift certificates sold at the 41st St Pizza Ranch do not expire and will be valid at the 41st St location when we reopen.
- FunZone game cards purchased at the 41st St location are only valid at our location. They do not expire so any credits or tickets outstanding will still be on the cards and be valid when we reopen.

Thanks again to the city of Sioux Falls and our community of loyal Pizza Ranch guests. We have had such an out-poor of support since the tornado on Sept 10th. We are motivated to bring back the 41st St Pizza Ranch bigger and better than ever in the same location that we have called home for over 12 years.”
