Getting To Work: New Sioux Falls Mayor Endorses Larry Rhoden
Newly elected Sioux Falls Mayor Christine Erickson is not wasting any time during her first days in office.
Days before the major South Dakota Runoff Election to determine a Republican candidate for governor, Mayor Erickson has officially endorsed incumbent Larry Rhoden in his reelection bid.

Who's in the Republican Governor Nomination Run-Off Election?
Governor Larry Rhoden and South Dakota business man Toby Doeden are back on the campaign trails asking for votes and support from communities across the 605. This runoff election to determine a candidate for governor is a first for South Dakota. Why is there a runoff? Neither received 35% of the vote during the June 2nd Election.

When it comes to the type of leader Larry Rhoden is, Mayor Christine Erickson explains in a Facebook post that Larry understands what "strong communities" in South Dakota are built on. He will be the leader that will listen to every voice in the 605.
“Governor Rhoden understands that strong communities are built on safe neighborhoods, responsible government, and creating opportunities for families to succeed. There is no better partner to make Sioux Falls safer and more affordable. I’ve had the opportunity to work alongside Governor Rhoden, and I know he listens, leads, and delivers. I’m honored to support his campaign as we continue moving South Dakota forward together.”
During a press conference, Governor Larry Rhoden says that he's looking forward to continuing working with Mayor Erickson and keep Sioux Falls moving forward.
“I’ve worked with Christine on a number of issues over the years. We’ve been more than just colleagues – we’ve been friends. It’s been pretty incredible what we’ve been able to accomplish for Sioux Falls in the last 18 months. Yes, there are still challenges, but I always look at challenges as opportunities not yet realized. I look forward to working with Mayor Erickson to keep Sioux Falls safe and to keep the community growing strong.”
