Sioux Falls Man Run over Saturday Night in Road Rage Incident
Police are attempting to find the person responsible for running over a Sioux Falls man during a road rage incident on Saturday night.
Dakota News Now is reporting the incident happened around 9:30 PM on Saturday (April 25) near 2200 West 10th Street.
According to the report, police were summoned to the area for what was first believed to be a fight. Once they arrived, they found a man who had been run over by a vehicle that fled the scene of the crime.
Dakota News Now reports the incident first started once the victim and his girlfriend were driving in the area of West 12th Street and South Western Avenue and were cut off by the suspect in traffic.
Both vehicles then proceeded to West 10th Street, that's when the suspect attempted to turn his car around in the driveway of a residence, in the process of trying to back out, the suspects car struck the fence of the residence.
That prompted the victim and his girlfriend to pull over to the side of the road, and a physical confrontation between the suspect and the victim took place in the street.
According to Dakota News Now, during the fight, the victim was knocked to the ground. Upon that happening, the suspect got back into his car and again began to pull out of the driveway. In the process of doing so, he ran over the victim who was still lying in the street.
The report states that the victim was taken to a Sioux Falls hospital with serious but non-life threatening injuries.
Police are now searching for the suspect who is described as a black man, driving a brown or orange-colored Honda sedan.
