When a woman let her ex-boyfriend into her apartment on Saturday afternoon, Sioux Falls Police says violence erupted!

"The man stopped by to get some items. She let him in. During the course of that the two started arguing. He ended up grabbing her by the head and slammed her into the wall. He punched and strangled her," explained Sioux Falls Police Department Public Information Officer Sam Clemens.

"Finally he grabbed the woman and took her to his vehicle where he forced her inside. They drove around for a little bit. He stopped and pulled out a gun. He pointed it at her and threatened to kill her. They then drove around some more. He finally stopped at an intersection. He started pacing back and forth outside the vehicle. She then ran and threw his cell phone. He went to get the phone and she was able to get away and call police."

Clemens says the man was apprehended by police.

"Officers were able to find him. He was arrested for aggravated assault domestic and kidnapping."

Clemens identified the ex-boyfriend as 26-year-old Byron Hunter of Sioux Falls.
