Remember Leia? She’s Still Waiting For A New Sioux Falls Home
There is a South Dakota dog who has touched everyone's heart. But unfortunately, this sweet girl is still looking for a home.
Leia is a three-year-old Terrier/Mix who has been at the Sioux Falls Area Humane Society for 290 days. The clock is ticking, and she almost can't handle waiting for her second chance.

Staff at the Sioux Falls Area Humane Society announced a big step for Leia recently. She has made a lot of progress while staying with her foster family.
With patience, structure, and hours of work, her reactivity to other dogs has significantly improved. She’s not the same dog you last read about. She can now be placed with a respectful dog who understands space.
That’s huge.
Even though this is a major step, Leia still has hills to climb. One thing is certain: She cannot go back to the shelter. It's too much stress for her.
Leia was once a dog full of joy, enthusiasm, and she would always be excited for games. And her love for kisses and treats? She couldn't get enough of either! However, the stress, noise, and the uneasy feeling of waiting for a second chance are taking a toll on Leia. This is truly a heartbreaking situation for anyone who knows Leia.
