What's Happening at the Sioux Falls Area Humane Society?
An unsettling Facebook post came from the Sioux Falls Area Humane Society last week. The facility is currently operating at over 25% animal capacity. The Sioux Falls Area Humane Society confirmed this news in a Facebook post.
Staff at the Sioux Falls Area Humane Society explain the shelter has taken in "a significant number of animals" recently. These newbies might not be ready for a home yet, but that doesn't mean other four-legged friends aren't waiting for theirs.
While these animals are not available for adoption, they still need space, staff, and the same level of care as every other animal in our shelter.
Even though this means there are fewer adoptable animals available, our shelter will remain at capacity.Our team will do what they always do. They will show up every day with compassion, patience, and determination, no matter how challenging the days become.
If you've been thinking about adopting, now is the time. Every adoption opens a kennel for another animal in need.
