One of the fastest growing sport programs in the nation is coming to the Sioux Falls School District, and this one's for the girls.
A Girls Flag Football program will make it's big Sioux Empire debut this coming school year in the Fall of 2026. This new program wouldn't be possible without the partnership with the Minnesota Vikings.

What Can Girls and Parents Expect with the New Sioux Falls Girls Flag Football Program?
Officials with the Sioux Falls School District made the exciting announcement in a Facebook post. The goal is to "create more opportunities for students to get involved and experience a sport that is rapidly gaining momentum across the country."
The plan is to start offering Girls Flag Football to middle and high school students in the Sioux Falls School District in the Fall of 2026.
The program will be offered at CLC (Sioux Falls School District’s Community Learning Centers) middle schools and all high schools, with all startup costs, including coaching staff, uniforms, and equipment, fully covered.
The Minnesota Vikings are giving a grant to the Sioux Falls School District. The Executive Director for the CLCs Paul Keizer says in a press release this is huge for girls in the district interested in the sport.
“We are grateful to the Minnesota Vikings for recognizing the potential here in Sioux Falls and helping us bring this experience to life. This program will open the door for more girls to get involved in athletics, build confidence, and be part of a team.”
