Sweet South Dakota Cat Waits Over 100 Days For Her Second Chance

There are a lot of animals throughout the state of South Dakota who need homes right now, especially one cat in Sioux Falls.

Say hello to sweet Daphne. She's been waiting for her new family at the local Sioux Falls Cattitude Café since the summer.

Daphne is a Calico kitty who is only one year old. She hasn't known a life outside of a shelter or with a family to call her own. The Sioux Falls Cattitude Café shared Daphne's story in a heart-warming Facebook post.

Daphne has been at the Cattitude Café since June 28th, 2025. That is exactly 135 days of Daphne waiting for her "fur-ever" home. She's cuddly and loves all the attention.

She is the perfect mix of spice and sweetness. She might give you a little sass when she’s feeling dramatic, but deep down, she’s a total lovebug who melts for pets and cozy snuggles. She’s got a quirky side too — you’ll catch her doing something silly one minute and curling up for cuddles the next.

Daphne sounds like the "purr-fect" cat for any family. And she's not the only one in need of a home at the Cattitude Café.

How did the Sioux Falls Cattitude Café start?

Fun fact: The cats at The Cattitude Café are from the Sioux Falls Area Humane Society. The two entities are partners, and together they have the same goal of finding cats a new home. Adopting cats from The Cattitude Café after meeting them is super easy too.

There have been over 500 cat adoptions at The Cattitude Café.
