Sioux Falls Police were treated to a high-speed car chase on Saturday night, (December 1) that resulted in authorities taking three people into custody.

Police Department Sergeant Robert Forster told KSFY TV, the incident began around 7:40 PM when authorities were notified of shots being fired. According to Forster, police later caught up with a vehicle of interest at 18th and Western Avenue and attempted to pull it over, but the driver of the pickup failed to stop.

Police continued the vehicle pursuit until the pickup being chased ended up crashing into a Walgreens sign at 41st and Sertoma Avenue after the driver lost control of the truck.

KSFY reports that three people attempted to flee the pickup on foot after the crash, but were soon apprehended by police and arrested.

Police told KSFY that no one was injured during the incident. However, a few residents did report minor damage to their vehicles as a result of the chase.

The incident is currently under investigation by police.
