In a Facebook post, staff explained that the Pet Food Bank is essential to the area. The food bank at the Sioux Falls Area Humane Society "is a safety net program, designed to provide resources primarily to struggling pet owners. The food bank supplies pet food for families and individuals facing economic hardship." It's truly a great resource for the Sioux Empire.

The Sioux Falls Area Humane Society just held its Lewis Drug Food Drive that filled the shelves of the Pet Food Bank. The food went quickly and now the Sioux Falls Area Humane Society needs your help.

Due to the high need in our community, we have already gone through our supply and are requesting more! This community food bank helps keep pets in homes and assists families who are going through a challenging time. Any food brand is accepted and open bags are accepted if they are in their original bag. We especially need dry dog food!

Food donations can be dropped off at the Sioux Falls Area Humane Society at 3720 East Benson Road in Sioux Falls. More information about the Pet Food Bank can be found by clicking here.

Let's help our friends at the Sioux Falls Area Humane Society! Your donations are so appreciated!

Who Is the 'Lewis' of Lewis Drug? Here's The Story

To answer the essential question of 'Who is the 'Lewis' of Lewis Drug?', let's take a little trip. Well, actually, more than a little trip. We're hopping into the time machine here.

Whoosh!

Ah, here we are. Sioux Falls, South Dakota, 1942.

In many ways, it is not the best of times. What has become known as the Great Depression was still having its effects. It might have been in the rearview mirror, but it lingered still.

And, just a few months before, Pearl Harbor happened and we were into World War II. The country was more than jittery. This was going to be more than tough, this was going to be life-changing.
