The community of Sioux Falls always helps one another when people or organizations are in need. Right now a non-profit in the Sioux Empire is asking for food donations to fill its community bank. The community food bank is currently empty, especially the cat food supply.

The Sioux Falls Area Humane Society gives animals a second chance in loving new homes. The Sioux Falls Area Humane Society staff also takes care of animals throughout the area with the Pet Food Bank.

In a Facebook post, staff explained that the Pet Food Bank is essential to the area. The food bank at the Sioux Falls Area Humane Society "helps keep pets in loving homes and assists families who are going through a challenging time. Any food brand (cat food) is accepted and open bags are accepted if they are in their original bag. If you are unable to make a drop-off, please consider buying it online and shipping it to our shelter." It's truly a great resource for the Sioux Empire.

Food donations can be dropped off at the Sioux Falls Area Humane Society at 3720 East Benson Road in Sioux Falls. More information about the Pet Food Bank can be found by clicking here. Families need your help!

As a reminder, hundreds of cats are looking for homes in the Sioux Falls area. The Sioux Falls Area Humane Society and The Cattitude Cafe have happy, friendly cats waiting for their new best friend!
