The Great Plains Zoo in Sioux Falls has a new friend for Sioux Falls area visitors to meet.

Besides welcoming lions and an adorable new Pallas cat to the Great Plains Zoo, staff are proud to welcome a new snow leopard to the zoo family! Officials with the Great Plains Zoo made the exciting announcement late last week.

Denali the snow leopard is the newest face at the Sioux Falls Great Plains Zoo. Denali has been kept a secret among zoo staff. She arrived in Sioux Falls in September and has been adjusting to her new South Dakota home.

Denali came a long way to be with us in the Sioux Empire.

She joined us in September from Memphis through an SSP (Species Survival Plan) recommendation and has been settling into her new home wonderfully.
Denali is now exploring her outdoor exhibit—look for her on your next visit! Check the 'Who's on Exhibit' sign to see if it’s her or Strut!

Denali is such a beautiful cat! Strut and Denali do look similar, so it will be fun to guess who's outside even before looking at the 'Who's on Exhibit' sign from the Great Plains Zoo.

How exciting for everyone at the Great Plains Zoo! With winter on the horizon, I think Denali will fall in love with Sioux Falls after the first major snowfall!

Welcome to Sioux Falls, Denail! The Sioux Empire visitors cannot wait to meet you soon.
