WEBSTER, S.D. (AP) — A northeast South Dakota man has been sentenced to 90 days in jail after pleading guilty to a count of aggravated incest as part of an agreement with the prosecution.

The Aberdeen American News reports the 23-year-old Roslyn resident was also ordered to five years of probation. He originally faced four counts each of aggravated incest and sexual contact with a child under the age of 16, rape and solicitation of a minor.

Court records show authorities accused the man of engaging in sexual activity with an 8-year-old relative multiple times during the spring and summer of 2010. Records show that under questioning by police, the man admitted that the incidents had taken place.

The Associated Press is not naming the man to protect the identity of the victim.

The man must pay nearly $840 in restitution for victim counseling.
