Huge Ratt Reno Tribute Show Coming Up Tomorrow on KXRB
The legendary voice of Ratt Reno is returning to the airwaves of KXRB for a special event that you won't want to miss. We've spent the last few days deep in the archives, sifting through a mountain of old cassette tapes and digitizing rare moments that haven't been heard in decades.
From high-energy on-air moments in the 1980s to localized shout-outs in the 90s, we are bringing the "hidden gems" of Ratt’s career back to life.

Rare Audio and Surprise Guest Interviews
This Tuesday morning tribute (6-10 am) is more than just a trip down memory lane. We will be featuring rare audio clips, including Ratt’s original theme song and classic "Country 1000" imaging from his days on the AM dial. We are also thrilled to welcome several surprise guests to the show. Former KXRB DJs who worked side-by-side with Rat during the height of his career will be joining us to share their favorite "behind the mic" stories.
Share Your Favorite Memories of Rat Reno
We want the entire Sioux Empire and beyond to be part of this celebration. Whether you listened to Ratt while commuting across South Dakota, tuned in from the farms of Iowa, or caught his signal throughout Minnesota, your memories are what made his show so special.
We will be taking your calls live on the air and featuring "Ratt Reno Memories" as our Facebook Question of the Day. You can head over to our Facebook page right now to share your favorite stories, his funniest moments, or just what his voice meant to you every morning.
How to Listen Tomorrow Morning
Make sure to join us tomorrow morning on KXRB for this one-of-a-kind tribute to a true broadcasting pioneer. We are going to "clean out the vault" and honor the man who helped define country radio in the Midwest for generations.
For those who wish to join in a final farewell to our friend and colleague, funeral services have been scheduled for this week. The service will be held this Friday, May 8th, at 10:00 a.m. at the George Boom Funeral Home in Sioux Falls. You can find the full obituary and service details by following the link below.
