SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (AP) — The South Dakota Highway Patrol is investigating a report of a Rapid City police car striking a pedestrian in a crosswalk.

The Rapid City Journal reports 27-year-old Promise Little Moon of Rapid City suffered minor injuries in the incident Tuesday afternoon.

A medical unit evaluated her at the scene but she was not transported to a hospital.

State Public Safety Department spokesman Tony Mangan says officer Daniel Raetz was making a turn at an intersection when his car struck Little Moon.

Mangan says the investigation results will be sent to the Pennington County State's Attorney's Office, which will determine if charges should be filed.

Rapid City Police spokesman Brendyn Medina says Raetz remains on duty while the investigation is taking place.
