The New England Patriots and quarterback Tom Brady have come to terms with a two-year contract extension. Brady who turns 39 in August, will now be in New England through the 2019 season.

His current deal paid him $9 million this upcoming season and $10 million in 2017. With the new deal New England will most likely restructure Brady's $15 million cap hit in 2016.

Last year Brady had one of his best seasons statistically with an overall quarterback rating of 102.2, 4,770 yards, 36 touchdowns and 7 interceptions. The impressive part was the fact that Julian Edelman only played in nine games and the offensive line had trouble protecting him at the end of the year.

Brady's extension will take him through the 2019 season but Brady will turn 42 before the season starts. He has not expressed interest in playing into his forties and chances are he won't play through the entirety of the contract extension.
