I know I live in South Dakota now and there are a lot of great things about this state like no income tax, low unemployment rates, and pheasants.

But, I was born and raised in Iowa, and there is just something about where you grew up that will always stick with you. Even though I've lived in SD for about seven years now, I am still a proud Iowan. When someone asks where I'm from, I always say, "I live in South Dakota now, but I'm from Iowa."

That's why I thought this new video put out by The Department of Cultural Affairs was so great. Not to brag, but I think it's pretty cool.

I know I have a slight bias, but when people ask what the difference is between Iowa and South Dakota, I think this video helps prove my point that it has always been a fairly progressive state for the midwest and has a lot of awesome people that do/have lived there. Including myself.

And this video doesn't even include everything that makes Iowa great. For example, the awesome fact that Iowa is first in the nation when it comes to selecting presidential nominees. The Iowa caucus is the best! I miss caucusing.
