Northeast South Dakota Crash Kills Minnesota Trucker
A Minnesota man died Wednesday at a Sioux Falls hospital, two days after the semi-truck he was driving was struck by a locomotive in northeast South Dakota.
The Highway Patrol says 60-year-old John Carl Andrews of Johnson, Minnesota drove across the Burlington Northern Santa Fe tracks in Milbank Monday afternoon and his vehicle was struck on the passenger side by a locomotive.
The truck spun 90 degrees and went into a ditch.
Andrews was not wearing a seatbelt. He was taken to a Milbank hospital and then air-lifted to a Sioux Falls hospital, where he died of his injuries on Wednesday.
