In a video that's amassed over 2 million views in less than two weeks, a YouTube influencer went to the streets to ask local Minnesotans to voice their feelings on a controversial issue that's been a hot topic across the North Star State.

Nick Shirley has been a content creator on the platform for over six years and is no stranger to racking up millions of views on his videos. He's also never shied away from "hot button" issues. One look at his uploads will tell you that Shirley has no problem asking uncomfortable questions. For example, some of his most popular YouTube Shorts include Anti-Ice Protestors Clashing With Police, Fighting NYC Street Scammers, and Catching Wanted Fugitives in Washington D.C.

Recently, Shirley took to the streets of St. Cloud Minnesota to ask area residents how they felt about the Somali Community living within the city. As you can imagine, the video set off a firestorm of emotional comments from Minnesotans.

In the short video, Shirley asks a man (and presumably his son) if they think St. Cloud has been taken over by Somalis. The son almost immediately says it has, whereas the father is a bit more cautious.

The current population of Somalians living in St. Cloud is between approximately 4,000 and 6,000. In Minnesota as a whole, the number of residents with Somali heritage is around 85,000, according to recent estimates.

Somali immigration has nearly always been a controversial issue in the 'Land of Ten Thousand Lakes', but recently, with the Somali Fraud Probe getting national headlines and a response from President Donald Trump, things have heated up considerably.
