That's right: Say hello to The Siouxville Grinch. He's a big deal in Sioux City, Iowa, and South Sioux City, Nebraska. Now he's calling Sioux Falls home for the Christmas season.

Who Is The Siouxville Grinch?

The Siouxville Grinch (AKA Martin Dalcourt) is more than a fictional character from the classic Dr. Seuss book. This special holiday elf is bringing The Grinch's magic to life. From Whoville to Siouxville...he promises to bring Christmas cheer to all those who hear.

Our friends at Pigeon605 met with Martin Dalcourt and learned he has been The Siouxville Grinch for more than 30 years. His green adventures started when he lived in Canada. It wasn't until he moved to Sioux City that he became The Siouxville Grinch.

Even when he's not feeling "grinchy," Martin Dalcourt and his wife, Tammy, now call Sioux Falls home.

Martin made his big Siouxville Grinch grand entrance to Sioux Falls during the annual Parade of Lights celebration. He says in a Facebook post that it was "quite nauseating," but secretly he loved every minute of it.

Gone But Not Forgotten - Iconic Sioux Falls: Whiffer's Sandwiches

The Merriam-Webster definition of iconic is "widely recognized and well-established." That would definitely describe Whiffer's Sandwiches which used to call North Minnesota Avenue home.

The gone but not forgotten sandwich shop was located in an old house at 1133 North Minnesota Avenue. It served sandwiches to Sioux Falls from November 1978 until the summer of 2020.
