My Most Memorable Ballpark Experiences – Good and Bad [PHOTOS]
Baseball is back tonight (July 23) as the 2020 major league season finally gets underway in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic.
The season almost never happened as the players and owners went back and forth on the length of the campaign (60 games) and exactly how the players would be compensated (pro-rated).
It will certainly be one of the most interesting seasons baseball has ever seen, right alongside the 1981 strike season and the 1994 season that ended without a World Series winner.
And the big question is will this season end on the field or will Coronavirus bring things to a premature halt?
One thing we already know about this season before it even starts is what will be missing at ballparks across the country - fans. Games will take place in empty stadiums in an effort to continue social distancing.
That will rob a lot of people of one of the quintessential American experience of attending a baseball game in person. There's nothing like it.
Over the years, I've been blessed to catch games in a number of different places. some of which no longer exist.
