I have lived in Sioux Falls for 22 years and this is the first year I have ever gone to the Falls Park Farmers' Market. Don't judge me. I've either had jobs that required working Saturdays or I was rarely ever in town on a weekend. This summer, I had a few Saturdays open, so I ventured downtown.

I had no idea the Falls Park Farmers' Market was this big! I've driven by the Farmers' Market open-air pavilion and thought it would be a great place for the market. It provides nice shelter, picnic tables and lots of parking.

The Falls Park Farmers' Market has been around for over 100 years. It celebrated its 100th anniversary in 2012.  The Farmers' Market has evolved over that time. It now has a permanent shelter across the street from Falls Park with restrooms and a playground.

I loved the colors and smells. My favorite part was the fresh cut flowers. Absolutely beautifully arranged and inexpensive. This is something I could treat myself to every week.

This is still pretty early in the season. Within the next few weeks, you'll see more tomatoes, cucumbers, fruit and sweet corn. I cannot wait until the sweet corn starts to arrive.

Whether you're looking for flowers, vegetables, cheese, canned goods or baked goods, you'll enjoy strolling through the Farmers' Market. You can grab a pastry and coffee or enjoy a Skipping Stone wood-fired pizza.
