Movie Coming About Patsy Cline and Loretta Lynn

Two of the biggest female stars in all of country music history were actually very close friends. And that will be the story of a film coming soon.

The new movie will depict the country stars Patsy Cline and Loretta Lynn's friendship. The upcoming Lifetime movie Patsy & Loretta stars Megan Hilty of Smash fame as Patsy Cline and Jessie Mueller, who won a Tony award for her portrayal of Carole King on Broadway in the musical Beautiful, as Loretta Lynn.

When the close friendship first began, Cline was already on the top as a country star. But Lynn's career was just getting started.

Patsy took Loretta in and closely advised her and helped her to the top. They dealt with professional as well as personal problems together. They also toured together and were almost  inseparable.

The friendship between the two country music legends ended with Cline’s untimely death in a plane crash in 1963.

Patsy & Loretta is being directed by Callie Khouri, the former executive producer of the TV show Nashville.
