You probably have tuned around the radio dial, hitting country station after country station and went "Huh?? It might be music, but it sure ain't country!"

Yep, Country Music has become Bro-Country or Hick-Hop or whatever the latest stylish name is. From Motley Crue cover songs to Rap, country music has moved into a direction that many country music listener's can't follow.

So then, the question becomes: Are there any new songs that are keeping it real country?

Well, the good news is a resounding "YES!"

From new releases by some of the greatest names in country music history (Willie, Don Williams, Ricky Skaggs, Rosanne Cash, Randy Travis and others) to great real country music by artist's you may not recognize but will love, people like Mary Sarah, Gord Bamford and Debbie Cochran (be listening for their music on KXRB and KXRB.com right along side Merle, George and the Hank's).

And now let me introduce you to another artist that 'keeps it country'.

His name is Monte Good, and we're playing his 'A Texas Honky Tonk'.

Monte hails from the Sooner state of Oklahoma and according to his website first went to Nashville in 1989.

I'll let you read the rest of his story from his website, but isn't it great to know real country music isn't dead? Heck, it's not even on a sick bed! It's there, it's real, and people like Monte Good are moving it forward.

Be listening for Monte's 'You Ought To Hear Me Cry' on KXRB and KXRB.com too. It's a great Willie tune and Monte does a great job on it, as you can hear.
