More than 40 years after releasing his first album in 1974, chart-topping country traditionalist Moe Bandy has made his big return to Nashville. On July 29, Bandy released a brand-new album, Lucky Me, and in this exclusive video, he shares some of the details of the making of the project.

Lucky Me is in keeping with Bandy’s honky-tonk history; its classic, Western swing-tinged title track is one that would be at home in the finest of dance halls. The record is Bandy’s first full-length release since 2005.

“We just had a ball cutting this album -- one of my favorite projects I’ve ever done," Bandy says. "I just can’t give enough credit to Jimmy Capps: He played guitar on it, produced it, did the whole thing," and Capps' wife, Michele Voan Capps, also provided background vocals, along with legendary Nashville harmony singer Curtis Young.

"I’m just very proud of it," Bandy adds.

Listeners will find a number of Nashville heavy hitters on Bandy’s newest album: Bluegrass icon Ricky Skaggs joins the artist for “The Rarest Flowers,” and the Oak Ridge Boys make an appearance on the album’s final track, “A Place to Hang My Hat.”

“I am so honored to have had the opportunity to work with such talented musicians,” Bandy reflects in a press release. “These artists are people that I’ve admired for a very long time. I hope my fans enjoy listening to this record as much as I did recording it.”

Lucky Me is currently available for purchase through Bandy’s website, which is also where fans can find a list of his upcoming tour dates.
