Making it Easier for Sioux Falls Car Thiefs
At a Sioux Falls police briefing Tuesday morning, we learned that 30 cars were stolen in the city since the beginning of 2017. That's an average of 2 every day.
Nearly all of them were unlocked with the keys in the ignition.
Perhaps we're making it too easy to steal wheels?
In case you'd like to make it even easier for car thieves to nab your ride, you could try leaving a note like this in your windshield:
Facebook poster Brandon Erdmann said,
If I am warming my car up I always make sure I'm within person smacking distance of it, rather be cold than dumb.. leaving the keys In the car with the door unlocked and unattended is basically hearing the prize announcer guy from the Price is Right yell, " A BRAND NEW CAR!"
