I'm not a fan of swimming.  In fact, I don't know how to swim or even tread water!  Don't get me wrong, I like hanging out by the water, I like looking at the water, I just don't like to get *in* the water.  However, give me some floaties and I can kick around the shallow end of the pool just like Michael Phelps... kind of.

There is still time to take the family to one of Sioux Falls many city pools and water parks, but don't wait too long.  As we get closer to the "unofficial" end of summer, Labor Day, Sioux Falls Park and Rec will be closing down pools one-by-one until next spring.

Here's the schedule of pool closures:

Frank Olson Pool - Aug 11 at 8 p.m.

Laurel Oak Pool - Aug 16 at 8 p.m.

Kuehn Pool - Aug 18 at 8 p.m.

McKennan Wading Pool - Aug 18 at 8 p.m.

Drake Springs - Aug 23 at 8 p.m.

Terrace Park - Sept 1 at 8 p.m.

The Midco Aquatic Center is open year round.
