Jason Michael Carroll Speaks Out About Visitation Disputes With Ex-Wife
Jason Michael Carroll is using social media to speak out about an ongoing dispute with his ex-wife over his visitation rights for their three children. The singer claims that his ex is violating his right to court-ordered time with his kids.
On Friday (Aug. 4), Carroll shared a screenshot of a conversation between himself and his ex-wife, Candice. The texts back and forth show Carroll asking for bank account information so that he can deposit child support information, and reminding her about a meeting location for visitation; she won't provide the details and says, "Don't text me anymore."
"This is me trying to communicate and get my ex-wife's bank account info so I can deposit my child support ... if it's this difficult to 'pay' her, imagine how difficult it is to actually get my time with my kids!" Carroll writes in a lengthy post. "We have never been 'great' together, but I had hoped that eventually she wouldn't use the kids the way she has. We can't speak on the phone, because reason and common sense don't matter."
Carroll continues by discussing the impact his and his ex-wife's disputes are having on his kids. Since his ex won't speak with him, he says that he's tried working out visitation details directly with his children.
"NO KIDS SHOULD EVER BE PUT IN THAT SITUATION," Carroll writes. "Our court order is very clear about visitation. I know know that ALL fathers may not be very involved with their kids, but I have always tried to be ... I know there are other fathers out there getting their time stolen by a vindictive ex, and there needs to be some group or something to help make sure this doesn't happen to them. It's too late for me. I'm just hoping I can bring attention to this horrible situation and help others going through it. I'm tired."
In addition to Carroll's three children with his ex, he and his wife Wendy have a son together. Carroll is known for his songs such as "Living Our Love Song," "Alyssa Lies" and, most recently, "God Only Knows." He last album was 2015's What Color Is Your Sky.
