One of the cool things about living in the Quad Cities is the fact that we can play both the Iowa and Illinois lotteries.

A woman on the Illinois side definitely used that to her advantage. She may be a resident in Illinois, but her Powerball ticket purchased in Iowa is what has made her quite a bit richer. She didn't score the jackpot but I surely wouldn't turn away her big winnings.

Rock Island, Ill. Woman Wins Big With The Iowa Lottery

Congratulations to the Quad Cities own and Rock Island, Ill. native Nicole Banks on scoring $50,000 from the Powerball. Nicole matched four of five white balls and the Powerball in the July 24 drawing, according to the press release.

Banks purchased her winning ticket right here in the Quad Cities at the Hy-Vee located at 4064 E. 53rd St. in Davenport. Nicole took the drive to the lottery headquarters in Clive and claimed her prize on Friday.

Although Nicole lives in Illinois where winners can remain anonymous on any amount of money won with any game, the Iowa Lottery's rules requires that names are made public.

The winning numbers in the July 24 drawing were 16-42-59-63-68 and Powerball 13. The Power Play was 2.

The Powerball jackpot was won during Monday night's drawing and is back at $20 million for Wednesday's drawing. Mega Millions is on the rise and the current jackpot is estimated to be $498 million for tonight's drawing.

Congrats to Nicole on this big win with the Iowa Lottery and the Powerball!
