If you ask Caitlin Clark, she'd much rather have the win. But the Indiana Fever rookie from Iowa had arguably her best game in the WNBA on Tuesday night.

First, the bad news. The Indiana Fever dropped a close home game Tuesday night to the Los Angeles Sparks, 88-82. The Fever are now just 1-7 and sit in 11th place according to CBS Sports. It is the team's worst start since 2021. But there was a silver lining last night in Indianapolis. A historic performance from rookie Caitlin Clark.

CBS Sports reports that Clark recorded her first 30-point game of her WNBA career, finishing with a stuffed stat line of 30 points, five rebounds, six assists, three steals, and three blocked shots. Clark shot 7 of 16 from the field and 13 of 15 from the free throw line. She did continue to struggle with turnovers, notching seven on the night.

Despite the loss, the performance was a historic one for Clark for a number of different reasons. CBS Sports reports that Clark is the first rookie to score 30 points in a game since Rhyne Howard in 2022. She became the first rookie to attempt 15 free throws in a game since Howard in 2022, and only the fifth rookie to do so in the past decade.

CBS Sports notes that Clark's line of 30, 5, 5, 3, 3 also puts her in rare air. Clark joined Jewell Lloyd and A'Ja Wilson as the only players with 30 points, 5 rebounds, and 5 assists in the WNBA this season. She became the first rookie to have a 30/5/5 game since Sabrina Ionescu in 2020. Clark became the first rookie EVER to with 30 points, 5 rebounds, five assists, three steals, and three blocks in a game, and is the 4th WNBA player in history to post those numbers.

While the Fever continues to struggle, Clark appears to be finding her footing in the WNBA. The wins will soon follow.
