You Can See the New Beetlejuice Movie Free in Sioux Falls
It was a smash hit at the box office when it opened earlier this month and now you have a chance to see it free in Sioux Falls.
Beetlejuice Beetlejuice (PG-13) is the featured film at the Movies for Grownups event being sponsored by AARP South Dakota.
The showing is Sunday, September 22 at 4:00 PM at Cinemark Century Sioux Falls 14 and XD on South Carolyn Avenue.
Tickets are free, but registration is required and seating is first-come, first-served.
The film picks up years after the end of the 1988 original, which starred Michael Keaton, Alec Baldwin, and Geena Davis.
In the sequel, Keaton is back in the title role, as is Wynona Rider as Lydia Deetz and Catherine O'Hara as Lydia's stepmom, Delia.
New to the cast are Jenna Ortega (Astrid Deetz) and Justin Theroux (Rory).
In the Tim Burton-directed 2024 updated version, three generations of the Deetz family return home to Winter River after an unexpected family tragedy. Still haunted by Beetlejuice, Lydia's life is turned upside down when her rebellious teenage daughter discovers a mysterious portal to the afterlife.
The film opened in theaters September 6 and was an immediate hit with critics and fans, bringing in $110 million at the box office the first weekend, which is the second-highest opening ever in the month of September, behind Stephen King’s It ($123.4 million).
