Drivers West of Sioux Falls will have one fewer way to access the interstate later this week

According to the South Dakota Department of Transportation, beginning at 6:00 AM on Thursday (September 11), the westbound Interstate 90 on-ramp at Hartford (exit 387) will be temporarily closed. The temporary on-ramp closure is required to allow crews to safely complete a bridge deck pour over I-90.

Concrete trucks will need direct access in and out of the work zone during this bridge deck pour operation. The on-ramp will be reopened as soon as the deck pour is complete. The on-ramp is anticipated to reopen by 12:00 PM.

During the temporary on-ramp closure, traffic will be routed to the I-90 eastbound on-ramp exit at 387 and travel three miles east. Motorists can then use the westbound on-ramp at exit 390 to travel westbound on I-90. Drivers are encouraged to allow for extra travel time and use alternate routes if possible.

The $12.6 million project is expected to be completed by June 2026.

The Most Road Rage Inducing Spots in Sioux Falls

More than anything, I'm holding out for Star Trek transporter technology. I'm not necessarily not excited about driverless cars. I for sure would be happy to not have to drive anymore. But, I don't want to do that until EVERYONE ELSE does it too.

Driving is not worth it. Even in Sioux Falls, there are plenty of opportunities to send your blood pressure into the red when wading through traffic.

Road Rage and driving in Sioux Falls go hand in hand, so much so that when we asked locals "Where do you get the worst road rage in Sioux Falls?" people had very strong opinions:

Why Are There So Many South Dakota License Plates in Mexico?

An odd thing that's puzzled folks vacationing in Mexico is that there seems to be an abundance of South Dakota license plates. In fact, there are so many, it doesn't make sense.
