New Interchange Construction Kicks Off In Sioux Falls Soon
Traffic on a busy stretch of Interstate in Sioux Falls is about to get a lot worse.
Beginning Monday (March 16), one lane of southbound I-229 will be closed at mile marker 0. This lane closure will be placed south of the I-29 northbound on-ramp.
The lane closure is part of the I-29 and 85th Street interchange construction project.

This lane closure will remain in place through September.
Business access will be maintained at 85th Street and Sundowner Avenue and Tall Grass Avenue.
The $54 million project is expected to be completed in November 2027.
