2025 has been a year of transformation for Sioux Falls' only cat cafe.

Help Needed

It all began in April, when the owners of The Cattitude Cafe at 11th Street and 2nd Avenue issued an urgent plea for $25,000 in donations by the end of the month or they would be forced to close the doors.

By the month's end, the people had spoken with their checkbooks, coming through with more than enough money for the cafe to remain open.

New Priorities

With that new lease on life, management at the cafe decided to narrow their focus to maximizing cat encounters while minimizing everything else. So, the food menu was scaled back, and the kitchen area was scrapped in favor of a new, second room for felines and their fans to mingle.

New Space

That new space, dubbed the Nook Meow, is now open.

The nook is more intimate than the cafe's original cat room, and with a premium on space in the new area, admission is limited to guests aged 14 and older.
