Rock & Roll Hall of Famer Pat Benatar Will Play Minnesota in 2024
Rock & Roll Hall of Famer Pat Benatar and her guitarist/husband Neil Giraldo are bringing their 2024 tour to our neck of the woods.
The two will headline the Lakefront Music Fest at Lakefront Park in Prior Lake, Friday, July 12.
Tickets are on sale now.
Pat was born Patricia Mae Andrzejewski, January 10, 1953, in Brooklyn.
In high school she participated in musical theatre and later worked as a bank teller after moving to Richmond, Virginia.
She quit that job in the mid 70s to pursue a career in music after attending a Liza Minnelli concert. Her first paid job was a singing waitress at a nightclub named the Roaring Twenties.
In 1975, Pat was discovered after performing at an amateur night at the comedy club Catch a Rising Star in New York.
Her debut album, In the Heat of the Night, was released in August 1979, and eventually peaked at number 12.
Pat's next three albums, Crimes of Passion (1980), Precious Time (1981), and Get Nervous (1982) all landed in the top five, with Precious Time hitting number one for one week in August of 1981. She has 15 Top 40 singles to her credit and a number one song on the Rock Chart ('Love is a Battlefield' in 1983).
She is a four-time Grammy winner, capturing the award for Best Female Rock Vocal Performance from 1981 to 1984.
She married her guitarist, Neil Giraldo, in 1982.
The pair were inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 2022.
