Great Bear Ski Valley just opened for the first time this season only a few days ago. Now, frigid wind chills and snow will close the slopes this weekend, January 13 - 15.

According to Great Bear, the park will be open from noon until 10:00 p.m. on Friday (1/12) and reopens on Tuesday (1/16) at 3:00 p.m.

Snow likely, mainly before 9am. Patchy blowing snow. Cloudy, with a high near 6. Wind chill values as low as -20. Blustery, with a north wind 15 to 20 mph, with gusts as high as 35 mph. Chance of precipitation is 70%. New snow accumulation of around 2 inches.

A 20 percent chance of snow. Patchy blowing snow. Mostly cloudy, with a low around -6. Wind chill values as low as -32. Blustery, with a northwest wind 20 to 25 mph, with gusts as high as 40 mph.
Saturday
A 30 percent chance of snow, mainly before noon. Areas of blowing snow. Cloudy and cold, with a high near -3. Windy, with a northwest wind 25 to 30 mph, with gusts as high as 40 mph.

Areas of blowing snow. Mostly cloudy, then gradually becoming mostly clear, with a low around -18. Blustery, with a northwest wind 20 to 25 mph, with gusts as high as 40 mph.
