The food blog Cheapism has generated a list of 46 Restaurants Across America to Satisfy Late-Night Cravings and a South Dakota and Iowa location each made the cut.
In the Mount Rushmore State, the pick is Giliberto's Mexican Taco Shop on South Minnesota Avenue.
Not only is the food delicious here, but you can satisfy your cravings anytime because they never close (open 24 hours a day).
There are no fewer than 17 different tacos on the menu including my personal favorite, the #11 - Four Rolled Tacos with Guacamole.
If breakfast is what you're after on your late-night run, there are 10 different burritos to choose from, as well as Huevos Rancheros, Omelets, Steak Rancheros, and eggs and potatoes.
The Hawkeye State's top late-night pick is in a perfect sport - a college town.
Vine Tavern & Eatery on East Prentiss Street in Iowa City is open until 2:00 AM seven days a week and is known for its wings and Apple Pie shots.
No breakfast items on the menu here, but that's about all they don't have.
From a wide range of appetizers, baskets, sliders, salads, burgers, sandwiches, wraps, pasta, and desserts, there's more than enough to fill that pit in your stomach in the wee hours of the night.
