We've all heard the expression "Crazy from the Heat." Perhaps the recent heatwave, which has had a grip on the Sioux Empire, played a part in a road rage incident that happened in Sioux Falls over the weekend.

Dakota News Now is reporting that a Sioux Falls man was arrested following a road rage incident that occurred on Sunday, June 29, around 4:20 PM in the northeastern part of the city.

Public Information Officer, Aaron Benson, told Dakota News Now that two cars were traveling north on Veterans Parkway near Interstate 90 when one car intentionally ran into another, clipping the rear end of the victim's vehicle.

The action caused the car to spin in a circle. The vehicle then went over the median and ended up coming back alongside the other vehicle.

According to Dakota News Now, the victim in the case got out of his car and showed what was later determined to be an airsoft pistol to the aggressor in an attempt to prevent the suspect from further trying to hit his car again.

Once police arrived, the two men each gave versions of what had transpired, which, according to the report, did not match.

Authorities were able to use surveillance video from the area to piece together what exactly occurred, and Dakota News Now reports that 48-year-old Roger Philip Linder of Sioux Falls was later arrested and charged with aggravated assault and obstruction.

It was also determined that the two men involved did not previously know each other, and that drugs and alcohol were not factors.
