Have you ever walked or ridden past the life-sized statue of a jogger near the bridge at Pasley Park in Sioux Falls and wondered...who is that?

The tall bronze runner standing along the Sioux Falls bike trail is a tribute to Rich Greeno, a beloved local coach and educator who passed away in 2017.

Created by sculptor Darwin Wolf, the statue captures Greeno mid-stride, a fitting tribute to a man who logged hundreds of miles on these very trails while training his athletes over several decades.

You'll find the statue along the bike trail near the bridge over the Big Sioux River, along the east bank of the river greenway close to Pasley Park.

More than just a piece of public art, the sculpture is a living reminder of Greeno's dedication to fitness and community.

Darwin Wolf designed it to inspire folks who pass by to keep moving and stay active, just as Greeno encouraged so many to do throughout his life.

First built in the 1970's, the Sioux Falls bike trail system transformed the Big Sioux River corridor from a neglected area into a scenic, paved loop that circles the city.

Today, there are over 45 paved miles of Sioux Falls bike trails.
