Fall Drinks Are Coming To Sioux Falls Before September Even Starts
Is it just me, or did Sioux Falls get a tiny little whiff of fall this morning?
For the first time in what feels like forever, we stepped outside early in the morning and didn't immediately feel like we had just entered a sauna. You know what I'm talking about. Usually, by 6:30 in the morning, Mother Nature has already turned up the thermostat to the lower 70s.
There was actually a little chill in the air. And even for a warm weather lover like myself, I have to admit, it felt pretty darn good!
If you're an Autumn lover, don't go getting too excited; summer is far from over. After all, we live in Sioux Falls; I can promise you that Mother Nature has plenty more heat and humidity to serve up before frost on the pumpkin begins to show up.
So you can tap the brakes on digging out all things long-sleeved just yet.
But here's a little cool weather news to help tide you over.
Pumpkin Spice season is almost here.
We're getting dangerously close to the time of year when coffee shops across the country transform into pumpkin-flavored wonderlands, and suddenly everything from lattes to cold brews starts tasting like a pumpkin pie.
According to Dakota News Now, Starbucks locations in Sioux Falls are planning to bring the legendary Pumpkin Spice Latte back to their menus on August 25.
And Starbucks isn't stopping with the traditional PSL. The company is also bringing back its fall lineup with pumpkin-inspired drinks including the Iced Pumpkin Cream Shaken Espresso and Iced Pumpkin Cream Matcha.
As they continue their pursuit to create almost everything they sell taste like pumpkin during the fall and winter months.
Meanwhile, rival Dunkin' Donuts is also getting ready for its annual fall takeover. The chain recently announced its fall drink lineup, including its Pumpkin Spice Signature Latte, which is scheduled to arrive at participating locations nationwide beginning Wednesday, August 19.

Unfortunately, there's one small problem for us here in Sioux Falls. We don't have a Dunkin'.
So if you're determined to get your pumpkin spice fix from Dunkin', you're going to have to turn it into a road trip. The closest Dunkin' location to the Sioux Empire is reportedly about two hours away in the tiny little town of Holstein, Iowa.
The question is, are you willing to spend a couple hours in the car in pursuit of a Dunkin' pumpkin drink?
You know there are a few pumpkin spice, spice babies out there that will.
