The Minnesota Department of Health (MDH) is investigating the incident as part of a nationwide outbreak affecting 12 states. ByHeart has issued a voluntary recall of all infant formula products sold across the country.

Outbreak Details

As of November 10, 2025, 15 infants with suspected or confirmed infant botulism have been reported after exposure to ByHeart Whole Nutrition infant formula.

The affected infants range in age from 16 to 157 days, with illness onset dates spanning from August 9 to November 10, 2025.

All 15 infants required hospitalization, though no deaths have been reported. Laboratory testing continues for some cases as health officials work to confirm diagnoses.
