The National Weather Service in Sioux Falls (NWS) has issued a Winter Weather Advisory for parts of South Dakota, including Sioux Falls. The advisory is in effect from 6:00 PM Friday until 9:00 AM Saturday.

A weather system will bring rain to the Sioux Empire on Friday. The rain could mix with snow on Friday evening. Sioux Falls could see "snow accumulations up to one inch and ice accumulations up to one-fifteenth (0.15) of an inch
inch."

The NWS says that "Winter Weather Advisories are issued when snow, blowing snow, ice, sleet, or a combination of these wintry elements is expected, but conditions should not be hazardous enough to meet warning criteria. Be prepared for winter driving conditions and possible travel difficulties. Use caution when driving."
