It feels like there is a new recall every week in Colorado. Some recalls are for simple headlight repairs or a sensor that might malfunction.
I recently took my car for an oil change at my dealership and I was surprised to find out that I had three major recalls.
It was an immediate recall and my dealership hung onto my car for three days.
I was frustrated because I didn't know about it ahead of time. That is a large reason why we want you to know about the latest recall from Ford. This recall could potentially save your life.
Fire Hazards in Colorado
There is a fire hazard with multiple Ford models that are on the road in Colorado. Here is an explanation from The Car Connection.
A cracked fuel injector can result in fuel leaking at a high rate onto the cylinder head, which can then run onto hot surfaces near the exhaust manifold or turbocharger. Fuel vapor on a hot surface can ignite a fire.
You might be wondering why it needs to be recalled. Ford is not saying that all of the models have a cracked fuel injector. However, a major update needs to be made for the engine control software.
Additionally, a drain tube will be installed on your vehicle so there is a higher chance you will avoid major and critical issues.
