Prepare to be spooked. Arguably the most haunted hotel in Minnesota is hosting ghost tours this month. I have been to the Palmer House hotel a few times and it truly is haunted but touring it during spooky season really gives the experience a little something extra!

BOO: The Palmer House Featured On The Travel Channel's 'Hotel Paranormal'

Don't believe this spot is haunted? Just do a quick Google or YouTube search on the spot and you will be convinced. It was also featured on the hit Travel Channel Show Ghost Adventures, among others. The owner of the hotel won't even let anyone into the basement because it is that darn haunted.

A haunted tour during spooky season? You don't want to miss out! Hotel staff added ten paranormal tours for the month of October. You do need to purchase tickets and these tours usually sell out so hop on it!

The Palmer House Hotel is located in Sauk Centre, just a few hours from Duluth. I personally think it makes the best weekend road trip and the town has a bunch of cute bars and fun stuff to do if you want to get away from the ghosts for a bit.

Spoiler alert: there are some tours on Friday the 13th for an extra spooky experience. The times and dates of the tours are as follows:

  • Friday, October 13th at 5 p.m. (A Friday the 13th haunted tour?! Yes, please.)
  • Friday, October 13th at 7:30 p.m.
  • Saturday, October 14th at 1 p.m.
  • Saturday, October 14th at 4 p.m.
  • Friday, October 20th at 5:30 p.m.
  • Saturday, October 21st at 1 p.m.
  • Saturday, October 21st at 4 p.m.
  • Friday, October 27th at 3 p.m.
  • Saturday, October 28th at 1 p.m.
  • Saturday, October 28th at 4 p.m.

You can buy tickets online via the Palmer House website. Like I said, these sell out so act fast! While you are there, be on the lookout for a lifelike doll named Slappy, which you probably recognize from the Goosebumps series.

In April of last year, staff was looking for a doll that had gone missing from the hotel and they wanted it back because it was a precious gift. They pleaded with the public to share the news in hopes of the doll being returned no questions asked. (In my mind, it is so haunted that it got up and walked away on its own.) I am not sure if it was ever returned!
