It’s The Simple Things That Mean The Most As Tom T. Reminded Us With His Great Classic ‘I Love’

There are legendary nicknames in country music history, phrases that, when you hear them, you know exactly who we're talking about.

Coal Miner's Daughter? Man In Black? Bocephus? The Southern Gentleman?

And then there's 'The Storyteller'.

Tom T. Hall has invited us into his world for decades, and introduced us to people and places that have made us laugh, made us cry, made us think and made us sing along.

He told us there's 'only three things in this world worth a solitary dime', we met 'Clayton DeLaney', he informed us that he really and truly 'likes beer' and had us tapping our toe and following the trail of 'Sneaky Snake'.

And then, in late 1973 and early 1974 he slowed it down and got deep in our heart and mind with a very simple sounding, yet profound song. Originally released on his 'For The People In The Last Hard Town' album, the storyteller brilliantly stripped away any glitz and glamour (something Tom T. wasn't really known for anyway) and simply told us what he loved.

And of course the magic of the song? It's what we love too.
