For decades, Paul De Jong has been a household name in the Sioux Empire's gardening community. A tree expert with over 40 years of experience at Landscape Garden Center in Sioux Falls, Paul didn't just know about trees—he spoke their language. And now, with the release of "If Our Trees Could Talk", Paul is giving the trees in our area a chance to speak for themselves.

With the remarkable photography from Paul Schiller, "If Our Trees Could Talk" offers readers into the history of the trees around them. From centuries old Bur Oaks to rare, nearly forgotten trees, hiding in plain sight, this is a book that perfectly captures the uniqueness of the nature in the Sioux Falls Metro.

But "If Our Trees Could Talk" is more than just a coffee table book. It's also a deeply personal project for Paul, who was forced into an early retirement in his 50s after being diagnosed with Parkinson's disease. Unable to do the physical work his job required, Paul turned to a new challenge, writing. And from there, he channeled a lifetime of passion and wisdom into a wonderfully written tribute to the towering friends that surround us in the city of Sioux Falls.

On Thursday, May 22nd, Paul De Jong will be hosting a special book signing at Touchmark All Saints in Sioux Falls from 4:30-6:30 pm. Guests can meet the author and photographer, and purchase signed copies of the book. Proceeds from the signing will go toward tree conservation efforts.

Whether you're a gardener, a lover of local history, or simply someone who has a deep appreciation for trees in the Sioux Falls area, stop by Touchmark All Saints this Thursday.
