Hometown Tuesday: Mama’s Phried & Phillys
There are many hidden jewels in and around the Sioux Empire. You might not see them right away, but trust me, they are there. Once you discover these local hotspots in their secret hiding places, you can experience some amazing treasures. In Mama's Phried & Phillys' case that treasure is a Philly Cheesesteak.
Believe it or not, Mama's Phried & Phillys is located in Downtown Sioux Falls. Their exact address is 111 1/2 East 10th Street in Sioux Falls...yes it literally says 1/2 East 10th. You may have missed it as you were driving past Fawick Park or when you were on your way to Coffea Roasterie. In fact, this local restaurant family also owns Mama's Ladas! So not only can you enjoy some fried chicken and Philly sandwiches, but also enticing enchiladas! Talk about a lot of yummy comfort food!
I've never tried a Philly Cheesesteak. Ever. As soon as my friend Sadie learned this little tidbit about me, she told me that she just had to take me to Mama's Phried & Phillys. While spending an afternoon in the downtown area, Sadie and I spotted the perfect place to enjoy lunch. Of course it was Mama's Phried & Phillys! My first Philly Cheesesteak was totally calling my name.
The food did not disappoint. The only way to describe this Philly Cheesesteak is that it melted like butter in my mouth. I’ve never had a sandwich like this one! And the swiss cheese...oh my goodness! It paired perfectly with my Philly! Don't even get me started on the french fries from Mama's Phried & Phillys. They’re just as delectable!
Sadie was spot on with this local lunch place! I cannot wait to devour another Philly Cheesesteak from Mama's Phried & Phillys!
